Sumiko Amethyst
The Amethyst is the top of Sumiko's Oyster line of phono cartridges. It's equipped with a high-end nude line-contact stylus that is designed to read a record groove with extreme detail. The result? Wide frequency response, responsive dynamics, and low noise. You'll hear your favorite tracks the way they're meant to sound. Each Sumiko Amethyst is made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Amethyst - $599
Sumiko Blue Point No. 3
Vinyl lovers have long prized moving-coil cartridges for their clear, spacious sound. Compared to moving magnet designs, the Sumiko Blue Point No. 3's high-purity copper coils have less mass, which allows the stylus to track each record's grooves more accurately. This cartridge also boasts a nude-mounted, elliptical diamond stylus to minimize friction and wear on your treasured LPs, so you can enjoy them for a lifetime. The Sumiko Blue Point No.3 is available in both high and low output designs. Hand made in Japan.
Sumiko Blue Point No. 3 - $499
Sumiko Wellfleet
For the Wellfleet cartridge, Sumiko has upgraded its award-winning design of the Moonstone cartridge, retuning the suspension for optimal performance of a nude elliptical diamond with the existing generator and resonance-optimized housing found in the rest of the Rainier series.
The Sumiko Wellfleet utilizes a highly polished nude elliptical stylus, eliminating the bonding between the stylus tip and shank. Sonically, this increases speed and focuses central images, pulling them toward the listener with a heightened sense for detail. Made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Wellfleet - $449
Sumiko Moonstone
The Sumiko Moonstone features reduced moving-mass & output and is topped off with the listener-tested 0.3 x 0.7mil elliptical diamond. Moonstone transcribes sonic imagery with weight, richness, depth & sparkle. Texture is keenly realistic. The sonic image is suspended and well-controlled over a nearly-absent noise floor, providing fantastic clarity without etch nor confusion. The Sumiko Moonstone is a must-have for audiophiles on a budget. Made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Moonstone - $299
Sumiko Olympia
Building on Rainier, the Sumiko Olympia implements an upgraded cantilever assembly that reduces moving mass, translating to more nimble groove tracing, extended nuance and expanded frequency response. A slight decrease in output from Rainier reduces noise in an already-quiet design, improving imaging and perpetuating realism that’s rare to come by in this class of cartridge. Made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Olympia - $199
Sumiko Rainier
The Sumiko Rainier raises the bar for what can be expected from reasonably-priced MM cartridges. Sumiko's resonance-optimized housing channels extraneous resonance away from the generator, ascertaining a well-represented soundstage with fantastic clarity and a natural hint of warmth. Impressively quiet while delivering impact, Rainier skillfully places instruments & vocals right where they belong. You can expect a broader, rounder soundstage than you previously thought attainable at this price. Made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Rainier - $149
Sumiko Pearl
The Sumiko Pearl, with its extended frequency response and groove-hugging elliptical diamond stylus, delivers the kind of gripping performance that'll keep your toes tapping from the very first note to the very last drum roll. Cymbal splashes come across as natural, open, and airy, while bass lines are rendered tight, deep, and tuneful. Even surface noise, one of vinyl's Achilles heels, is pushed far off into the background. You'll enjoy sparkling clarity and warmth with every disc in your treasured vinyl library. Made by hand in Japan.
Sumiko Pearl - $119
Sumiko Oyster
The Sumiko Oyster phono cartridge is generally smooth in character yet surprisingly musical — a high-value introduction to the hobby of critical listening at manageable price for anyone looking to get a taste for the difference a cartridge upgrade can make. A conventional moving magnet cartridge with a rugged spherical stylus and alloy cantilever, it’s perfect match for any MM preamp and represents a fantastic step forward from most any entry-level & OEM design. You’ll hear an added layer of depth accompanied by enticing mid/high frequency extension. Made by hand in Japan.
