About Us
36 years of audio & video excellence.
Forged in friendship.
Bernard Manocchio and the late Harry Misteri began their careers in the home audio business in the mid 1970's. They met while working at Hi-Fi Stero House in Newington, CT and became fast friends. Friends who realized they could crank their passion for music and stereo equipment knowledge up to 11 – and start their own company.
Formed in 1988 at a brick-laden store in Rocky Hill, CT, The Audio Store soon became the preferred shopping (and listening) destination for thousands of audiophiles. Their combined experience in high-end audio including turntables, stereo speakers, headphones, amplifiers, and cd players became the stuff of legend. No, really.
As the business grew, it was time to expand – adding many key players to the team along the way. In July of 1993 they relocated to Newington, CT along the famous Berlin Turnpike, where they remain today.
Integrity. Expertise. Customer Service.
The three core principles of The Audio Store. They were true 47 years ago and still ring true today – perhaps even more so.
We pride ourselves in maintaining excellent customer relationships and are always here to help, before and after the sale. We continue to monitor industry trends and search for the newest quality brands and products.
